Pet Care

Under the new Animal Welfare Act, which came into force at the end of March 2007, anyone who is responsible for a pet has a legal responsibility to meet the five basic welfare needs of pets. These are:

a proper diet, including fresh water

somewhere suitable to live

any need to be housed with or apart from, other animals

allowing animals to express normal behaviour

protect from and treatment of, illness and injury

Wildlife in India

White Tiger

The Indian elephant is the largest animal in Asia. It is the only one of the two living species of elephants which can be tamed and become domestic.

Indian Lion

The Indian Lion is known purely for it's wild strength and royal charisma. It has been mythologically linked as well. The Indian lion is also known as the Asiatic lion, Panthera leo persica.

Indian Rhino

The Great Indian rhinoceros is one of the largest rhinoceroses found in the world. Unlike the other rhinoceroses, the Indian rhinoceros has only one horn.

Leopard

The leopard inhabits the forests, mountains and grasslands of Africa and Asia. It can be found in all of sub-Saharan Africa and west of the Kalahari.
